Yargan has a long-term engagement with RSK to supply an established construction team, which includes concreters, steel fixers, form workers, plumbers, civil operators and other trades to meet their ever-growing Brownfields Project Delivery requirements.
Projects are primarily delivered on BHP mine sites throughout the East Pilbara, varying in size and complexity.
One of the key challenges that we continue to face is the current resource shortage as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and the effects of the West Australian border closure, which prevented skilled construction workers from entering the state.
Yargan has been able to supply personnel that have a combination of technical qualifications, experience, team skills and attitude to function in a high performing construction team.
In our search for employees, we engage people who wish to stay with the company long term and grow within our business. To reflect this, Yargan has established retention incentive programmes within the business, accompanied with training and development opportunities to upskill our people.
Yargan was recently engaged to supply labour to complete detailed earthworks and structural foundations for the construction of new Fixed Plant Workshops at the BHP South Flank processing facility. This included the supply of concreters, form workers and steel fixers for the large slab and pedestal pours, as well as the supply of skilled all-round operators for earthworks and final trim operators for detailed earthworks finishing.
Yargan was able to supply suitably qualified and highly experienced personnel. The Yargan team delivered the project for the client with zero LTI’s and contributed to an excellent final product, in spite of the resource challenges brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Due to the scale of the pours for the concrete slabs on the project, personnel with major project experience were selected who had successfully completed works to ISO 9001 and met the specifications of major mining clients.
